Sources and full essay

My research on this family dates mainly to 2003. Since then, much of it has been superseded. The first generation is included in Alicia Crane Williams, Early New England Families, 1641–1700, 2 vols. to date (Boston: New England Historic Genealogical Society, 2015–9), 2:374-9, though it contains no treatment of William and Constance’s children. The two later generations are incorporated into Austin W. Spencer, Maureen Markt Dearborn, and David Curtis Dearborn, William¹ Briscoe of Boston, Massachusetts, His English Origin, and the Brisko and Wilson Families of Cumberland, New England Historical and Genealogical Register 178 (2024): 5-51, the American segment of which is based on research conducted mainly by the Dearborns.

The PDF essay linked below summarizes my prior research in documentary sources on this family. It has not been edited to conform in every respect to the above publications. Although I necessarily pursue only one child in each family, I also attempt to provide basic chronological information on all of my ancestors’ other children and their spouses.
